Batman v1 #239, 1972 - Just in time for the holidays, the Batman arrives with gifts for the poor and downtrodden. Neal Adams' lighthearted cover doesn't reflect the lead story, but nicely sets the tone of for the issue overall. The bisected design shows both despair and hope, with an imminent happy ending. I admit this cover is a refreshing change from the action-packed scenes that are far more common. Other artists in this issue include Irv Novick and Rich Buckler. This is 22 of 30 Batman issues by Adams.
