Don Newton |
Batman v1 #374, 1984 - Eschewing his usual grand thefts, the Penguin instead seeks top secret information to sell to rogue countries abroad. Aspects of
Don Newton's style emerges now and then, but mostly vanish under Alfredo Alcala's heavy inks. His layouts are fairly standard as well. Newton asserts himself more on his deftly designed cover. The figures are balanced and well positioned, with plenty of diagonal lines that increase dynamism. Unlike the story pages inside, Dick Giordano's inks are complementary and concise. This is 28 of 32
