Thor #126 - Jack Kirby art & cover

Jack Kirby
Thor v1 #126, 1966 - In a story continued from Journey into Mystery, Hercules fights Thor in order to curry favor from Jane Foster. This is the second battle between the two heroes, marking the start of Thor's first self-titled series. Jack Kirby opens with a compelling splash page and inserts another in the midst of the action. His layouts remain intact, but his drawings largely falter due to the less than adequate inking. Walt Simonson pays homage to Kirby's powerful cover in Thor #338. This is number 1 of 160 Thor issues with Kirby art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Kirby or Thor issues.
