Many Ghosts of Dr. Graves #1 - Steve Ditko art

Many Ghosts of Dr. Graves v1 #1, 1967 - After discovering the statues of a roman soldier and his beloved, an archeologist is approached by the souls trapped inside. This premiere issue introduces Dr. Graves, an investigator of the paranormal. Steve Ditko's name adds to the prestige of the issue, but unfortunately his artwork is uncharacteristically rigid. Pat Boyette's inks overwhelm the pencils on the first few pages, then slowly recedes with each subsequent page. While far from successful, this effort is among the very few collaborations between Ditko and Boyette. Other artists in this issue include Rudy Palais. This is number 1 of 42 Many Ghosts of Dr. Graves issues with Ditko art and/or covers (not including reprints). See today's posts or more Ditko or Many Ghosts of Doctor Graves issues.
