The World Around Us #19 / The Jungle - Al Williamson art

The World Around Us v1 #15 / The Illustrated Story of The Jungle, 1960 - The life of David Livingstone is vividly captured by artist Al Williamson. This is his third and last effort on the series, while also his longest. The dense jungles and open savannas are both drawn with great care. Spacious panels allow room for a variety of exotic animals, including a lion attack (see interior page above). Williamson's often straightforward pencils are generally reinforced by inker Reed Crandall. Other artists in this issue include Gray Morrow and others. This is number 3 of 3 World Around Us issues with Williamson art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Williamson or World Around Us issues. See also this blog's Al Williamson checklist.
