Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #52 - Carl Barks art

Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #52
Walt Disney's Comics and Stories v1 #52, 1945 - Items go missing in Donald Duck's house, only to be replaced by other objects. His nephews soon realize the place is infested with "trading" rats. Interestingly, Carl Barks employs more unique shapes and patterns into the backgrounds of this story. Several pages (including the one shown below) seem more conscientious in design. Not surprisingly, Barks' drawings get better toward the story's climax, where the infiltration of rats reaches full capacity. Other characters featured in this issue include Mickey Mouse. Other artists in this golden age comic include Al Taliaferro. Cover by Walt Kelly. This is 21 of 280 Walt Disney's Comics and Stories issues by Barks.
