House of Secrets #83 - Alex Toth art

House of Secrets v1 #83, 1969 - As a dying man sleeps, he dreams of another dimension where he commits heroic deeds and wins the heart of a princess. Alex Toth uses his imagination to create a strangely fantastical yet palatable world. The graphic approach to his illustrations is comparable to his other works drawn in the same era. The opening splash, using multi-sequencing, montage and psychedelic typography, is weirdly compelling. Kudos go to Toth for risking such experimentation. Other artists in this issue include Gray Morrow, Bill Draut, Dick Giordano, Art Saaf and Frank Giacoia. This is number 7 of 8 House of Secrets issues with Toth art and/or covers (not including reprints).
