Brides Romances #18 - Matt Baker art

Brides Romances #18
Brides Romances v1 #18, 1956 - When Jane discovers she has only a few years to live, she abruptly ends her engagement to the man she loves. On the opening panel, Matt Baker poorly proportions her fiancee's arm, giving the impression of a stunted limb. That aside, the artist does a largely capable job with this tale of love and catastrophe. His pencils are smoothed over and polished, but not necessarily to their detriment (see interior page above). The inker maintains enough of the original intent to leave Baker's style mostly intact. Other artists in this golden age comic include Sam Citron and Ogden Whitney. This is 2 of 4 Brides Romances issues by Baker.
