Mystery Tales #45 - Steve Ditko art

Mystery Tales v1 #44, 1956 - Calling himself the Great Gordoni, an escape artist commits robberies and evades authorities with impunity. Only three pages, Steve Ditko illustrates the tale robustly. The thief's ego and confidence are captured in his distinctive, almost non-expressive face. Ditko's most inspiring scene is the large opening panel, where a grid of metal bars frame the main character. Other artists in this issue include Syd Shores and Robert Sale. This is number 2 of 3 Mystery Tales issues with Ditko art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Ditko or Mystery Tales issues.
