Our Army at War #90 - Joe Kubert art & cover + 1st Sgt. Rock cover

Joe Kubert
Our Army at War v1 #90, 1960 - Sgt. Rock, featured on the cover for the first time, reminisces about his early days in the army as a buck private. As the hero narrates, Joe Kubert transitions from framed to open panels that comprise most of the story. The opening splash is nearly identical to his cover, but noticeably improved in both theme and layout. Kubert's interiors are visceral and compelling, aided by his dynamic sequencing throughout. This story was later reprinted in Our Army At War #186. Other artists in this silver age comic include Jerry Grandenetti.
