Heroic Comics #41 - Alex Toth art

Heroic Comics v1 #41, 1947 - A pair of deckhands drive into the frigid water to save an elderly woman. Like much of his early work, Alex Toth struggles basic figure drawing, layout and pacing, even with the short page count. Interestingly, the issue also contains a bio on Bess Myerson, the first Jewish Miss America. Other artists in this issue include H.C. Kiefer, Fred Guardineer, Sid Greene, among others. This is number 7 of 12 Heroic Comics issues with Toth art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Toth or Heroic Comics issues. See also this blog's Toth checklist.
