Matt Baker illustrates the story with class and sensitivity. Panels are generously detailed, from the working class tenement scenes to the swanky hotel rooms. The cover is beautifully composed, incorporating the girl’s figure into a strong triangular shape. Baker even includes the fire escape, perhaps hinting at her upcoming departure. Other artists in this golden age romance comic include Bob Bean. NOTE: copies may exist where this cover was combined with previously published St. John romance comics instead of the contents below.
