Savage Sword of Conan #85 - non-attributed Nestor Redondo art, mis-attributed Redondo cover

Savage Sword of Conan #85
Savage Sword of Conan v1 #85, 1983 - Conan is released from prison, tasked with saving the king's daughter from the sorcerer G'Human Thak. Gil Kane pencils this lengthy epic, with Danny Bulanadi and Nestor Redondo splitting the inking chores. Visually, the change from one to another is jarring. Redondo delineates with far greater skill and sensitivity. Most impressive is the interplay between dark and light areas. The artist's distinct textural feel (see interior page below) also applies in this non-attributed work. Redondo's story art is not attributed in comic book price guides and the cover is mis-attributed to him. Other artists in this issue include Joe Chiodo and Armando Gil. This is 9 of 10 Savage Sword of Conan issues by Redondo. /// Redondo gallery
