Sensing an opportunity, the spelunkers concoct lies that would ultimately benefit them. Steve Ditko's drawings have weight and mass, often using a heavy line. Most of the panels crop in on the faces, where thoughts and intentions are clearly conveyed. Appropriately, the close-ups also suggest a feeling of claustrophobia.
