Two-Fisted Tales #35 - Wally Wood art

Two-Fisted Tales v1 #35, 1953 - The Civil War is featured in this special EC issue. Wally Wood chronicles the Union's push down the Mississippi River toward its ultimate goal of capturing New Orleans. Nighttime scenes make up the majority of panels, yet the artist maintains a phenomenal level of detail and clarity. Artillery fire between Yankee fleets and Confederate forts is painstakingly drawn, while devoid of dialogue or narration. Wood's artwork is as decisive as the historical battle he depicts. Other artists in this issue include Jack Davis, John Severin and Reed Crandall. This is number 17 of 18 Two-Fisted Tales issues with Wood art and/or covers.
