Steve Ditko
This Magazine Is Haunted v1 #17, 1954 - In a pair of gruesome tales, Steve Ditko tells of an actor's pact with the devil and a thief's run-in with bloodthirsty ghouls. Both are drawn with more enthusiasm than skill, filled with overly distorted faces. A third story, "Triple Header", features a big game hunter and his cheating wife. Though only two pages, Ditko's artwork shows more potential and distinction. His suspenseful cover nicely caps one of his early efforts for Charlton. All three stories were later reprinted in Scary Tales #18. Other artists in this golden age comic include Bob Powell and Maurice Gutwirth. This is 2 of 5 This Magazine Is Haunted issues by Ditko.
