Amazing Spider-man #6 - Steve Ditko art & cover

Steve Ditko
Amazing Spider-man v1 #6, 1963 - In the Florida Everglades, a scientist tries to replicate the limb regeneration of reptiles, only to find his formula gone awry. Spanish forts and swamps are the backdrops for Steve Ditko's engaging drawings. Some of the panel grids tend to be repetitive, but not distractingly so. The opening splash of Spidey, the Lizard and his army of alligators has the most impact visually (a scene replicated on the page above). Kudos to Ditko as well for his daring, acrobatic cover design. This is number 6 of 38 Amazing Spider-man issues with Ditko art and/or covers.
