Savage Sword of Conan v1 #5, 1975 - Simple yet compelling, Jeff Jones' illustration of an unnamed, sword-wielding barbarian graces the inside front cover to this issue. The figure is a bit mis-proportioned, particularly the hands and arms. Still, his stark division of light and dark, as well as his streamlined composition, result in a graphically powerful image. Other artists in this bronze age magazine include John Buscema. Painted cover by Boris Vallejo.
