Frank Frazetta |
Creepy v1 #3, 1965 - Reading by candlelight, a man is confronted by a ghoulish figure in the doorway. Frank Frazetta paints a simple, yet effective composition with no unnecessary elements. The archway nicely frames the creature's head, while the stark white background makes his entire figure stand out. Oddly enough, Al Williamson's name is in the contents credits but his work is nowhere to be seen (perhaps partial inks on the 2nd Angelo Torres story?). Other artists in this bronze age magazine include Gray Morrow, George Evans, Jack Davis, Joe Orlando and Reed Crandall. This is 3 of 15 Creepy issues by Frazetta.
