An Earth Man On Venus

An Earth Man On Venus v1 #nn (no number), 1951
 - Based on the book by Ralph Milne Farley, a radio expert named Myles Cabot is suddenly transported to the planet Venus. He falls in love with a beautiful girl and proceeds to lead a humanoid population in revolt of their giant insect masters. Despite this sci-fi farce of a story, Wally Wood delivers an early work that showcases his potential. The majority of pages are meticulously detailed. Certain scenes, such as the giant spider-web on page 4, are even more delicately drawn. Wood's work in the early 1950s often struggled, but this effort displays a newfound confidence. This story was later reprinted in Strange Planets #11. Other artists in this golden age comic include cover artist Gene Fawcette. This is 1 of 1 An Earth Man On Venus issues by Wood.
