X-Men #3 - Jack Kirby art & cover

Jack Kirby
X-Men v1 #3, 1964 - A new mutant is discovered, working at a circus freak show. The X-men soon discover the Blob is an immovable object, intent on taking over their residence and advanced technologies. Jack Kirby's drawings are more interesting due to the various circus performers and settings in the story. The Beast's entanglement with two trapeze artists is especially well sequenced (see interior page below). As in many Kirby efforts, this tale is heavy with energy and excitement. This is number 3 of 17 X-Men issues with Kirby art and/or covers (not including reprints). See today's posts or more Kirby or X-men issues. See also this blog's Jack Kirby checklist.
