Fightin' Marines / Approved Comics #11 - Matt Baker cover & reprint, mis-attributed art

Matt Baker
Fightin' Marines / Approved Comics v1 #11, 1954 - On this especially violent Matt Baker, an American GI torches a nest of enemy soldiers. His crazed expression is more than a little disturbing. And yet, the scene is more tasteful than the typical horror comic from that era (no melting faces, etc.). That aside, Baker's rendering is bold and eye-catching. Despite what comic book price guides say, there is no new Baker story art, only a Canteen Kate reprint from Fightin' Marines #3. Other artists in this golden age war comic include Gene Colan. This is 3 of 4 Approved Comics issues by Baker.
