Creepy #39 |
Creepy v1 #39, 1971 - Running from the law, a dangerous fugitive happens upon a scarecrow in a remote. lonely cornfield. Interestingly, the story has a choice of three different endings.
Frank Brunner's artwork is heavily layered with fine lines, bringing dimension to objects and figures. His drawings have a dream-like, or in this case, nightmarish quality. Just prior to his stint at Marvel, Brunner's distinctive approach shows promise. Other artists in this bronze age magazine include Basil Gogos, Clif Jackson, Sal Trapani, Dave Cockrum, Pablo Marcos, Pat Boyette and Richard Bassford. This is 1 of 2
