Superman #355 - Jim Starlin cover

Jim Starlin
Superman v1 #355, 1981 - Jimmy Olsen becomes the subject of a tug-of-war between Superman and a clay-like creature. Jim Starlin utilizes a more illustrative drawing style than usual. The overall composition is a bit too simplistic and the artist struggles with the figure drawings. Starlin partially makes up for this with the fine details on the background rocky terrain. Other artists in this issue include Curt Swan and Frank Chiaramonte. This is number 1 of 1 Superman issues with Starlin art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Starlin or Superman issues.
