Amazing Spider-man #2 - Steve Ditko art & cover + 1st Vulture

Steve Ditko
Amazing Spider-man v1 #2, 1963 - Appearing for the first time in separate stories, the Vulture and the Tinkerer emerge as deadly new foes for Spider-man. Both stories are drawn in Steve Ditko's quirky yet distinctive style. Overall, "The Uncanny Threat of the Terrible Tinkerer" is a tad better drawn than "Duel to the Death with the Vulture". Both tales open with excellent full page splashes, showcasing the hero and villain in iconic fashion. Each has detail and draftsmanship within a concise layout. Ditko's cover basically replicates a scene from inside, just meeting expectations. The Tinkerer story was later reprinted in Amazing Spider-man annual #2. Written by Stan Lee, this is 2 of 38 Amazing Spider-Man issues by Ditko. /// key 1st appearance, 1st cover Vulture, 1st appearance Tinkerer
