Showcase v1 #2 featuring Kings of the Wild, 1956 - After failing in his duties to protect the flock, a young indian boy must confront the mountain lion that caused all the carnage. Joe Kubert illustrates this rite of manhood with a sense of adventure. Terrific details and textures fill many of the panels. Most breathtaking is his opening scene, a full page of the young hero and his guardian eagle precipitously high above the valley. This story was later reprinted in DC Special #5. Other artists in this golden age comic include Russ Heath and Ross Andru. This is 1 of 19 Showcase issues by Kubert.
