Daredevil #138 - John Byrne art

Daredevil v1 #138 marvel comic book cover
Daredevil v1 #138, 1976 - Tracking down Karen Page and her captor Death's Head, Daredevil and the Ghost Rider arrive coincidentally at the same time. John Byrne's pencils are engaging without overwhelming the storytelling. His work is enhanced by clear dynamic layouts, particular the Ghost Rider scenes (see interior page below). Jim's Mooney's inking style somewhat clashes, asserting itself on mostly non-superhero characters. Though an early effort, Byrne shows much potential. The story continues in Ghost Rider #20. This is number 1 of 5 Daredevil issues with Byrne art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Byrne or Daredevil issues. See also this blog's Byrne checklist.
