Strange Adventures #213 - Neal Adams art & cover

Strange Adventures v1 #213 dc 1960s silver age comic book cover art by Neal Adams
Neal Adams
Strange Adventures v1 #213 featuring Deadman, 1968 - Tiny hangs by a thread as surgeons operate on his bullet wound. On Neal Adams' cover, the circus strongman drifts helplessly in limbo. Despite the complex cross-hatching, the image elicits little excitement. Adams' interior story art is far better, starting with his juxtaposition of the ethereal and physical worlds on pages 1-4. A seance occurs midway through the story, culminating in nightmarish spirits that fill the center spread. While entertaining, the setting's ornate interiors and decor are more indicative of Adams' talent.  This story was later reprinted in Deadman #5. This is number 8 of 15 Strange Adventures issues with Adams art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Adams or Strange Adventures issues.
