Marvel Chillers #7 / Tigra - Jack Kirby cover

Jack Kirby
Marvel Chillers v1 #7 featuring Tigra the Were-woman, 1976 - Jack Kirby's lighter touch seems like an odd choice for such a dark and savage heroine. The inclusion of the alien Super-Skrull and western Red Wolf make the cover even more out of sorts. Kirby crams in all the necessary elements, but with little grace and precision. To me, there's clearly a mismatch between genre and artistic style. Other artists in this issue include George Tuska and Sal Trapani. This is number 1 of 1 Marvel Chillers issues with Kirby art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Kirby or Marvel Chillers issues. See also this blog's Kirby checklist.
