Outer Space v2 #1 - Steve Ditko art

Outer Space v2 #1, 1968 - Nearing an idyllic unspoiled planet, a renegade spaceman disposes the ship's crew and lays claim to the new territory. This science fiction tale by Steve Ditko is an extraordinary work. Wildly inventive forms fills the panels, from alien planets to futuristic technologies. Layouts are dynamically configured, containing crisp, clear drawings and textures. Ditko's fine draftsmanship only wanes (slightly) toward the story 's end, where an outmoded stereotypical twist occurs. Other artists in this issue include Nicholas Alacasia and Pat Boyette. This is number 5 of 5 Outer Space issues with Ditko art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Ditko or Outer Space issues. See also this blog's Ditko checklist.
