Vampirella #10 - Neal Adams, Wally Wood, Frank Brunner art

Vampirella #10
Vampirella v1 #10, 1971Wally Wood's sword and sorcery tale exudes both violence and sexuality. His layouts are more inventive than his typical comic book fare. This is probably due to the greater  freedom allowed within a magazine format (this story was later reprinted in >Eerie v3 #131). Neal Adams employs his trademark realism on a story of a modern day succubus disguised as a beautiful woman. Except for the final page, the artist's draftsmanship is evident throughout (particularly on the interior page below). Frank Brunner's flowing, sensuous brushstrokes nicely enhance his own tale. His draftsmanship, however, shows his inexperience. This story was later reprinted in The Unknown Worlds of Frank Brunner #2. Other artists in this bronze age magazine include Tom Sutton. This is 2 of 3 Vampirella issues by Adams, 2 of 3 Vampirella issues by Wood and 1 of 2 Vampirella issues by Brunner.
