My Real Love #5 |
My Real Love v1 #5, 1952 - Although designated as issue five, this the only issue of My Real Love. I have to assume the series started under a different title, yet the comic books guides fail to provide more information.
Alex Toth contributes one of his shortest romance stories of the period: a morality tale about a city girl who has reservations about marrying a country boy. The word balloons confine the artwork for the most part, but the artist has his moments in the characters' facial expressions. The top panel of page four, the city girl's dark silhouette makes a nice metaphor for being "in the dark" about her friends' gossiping. Other artists in this
Standard golden age
romance comic include George Tuska and Nick Cardy. This is number 1 of 1
