Wyatt Earp v2 #8 - Russ Manning art

Wyatt Earp v2 #8, 1959 - In a not so typical western story, a gang of thieves named The Harlequins dress up as clowns when robbing banks. Wyatt Earp turns the tables on them with their own disguises in an excellent story by Russ Manning. The artist takes care to illustrate the bandits in a deadly serious, rather than fanciful approach, and makes clear their intentions. The bottom panel on page three skillfully communicates three scenes at once: an injured perpetrator lying on the ground, the marshall's arrival at the scene, and the flight of the other gang members. Manning's second story is a tad less interesting by comparison. This is number 8 of 13 Wyatt Earp issues with Manning art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Manning or Wyatt Earp issues. See also this blog's Russ Manning checklist.
