DC Comics Presents #29 - Jim Starlin art & cover

Jim Starlin
DC Comics Presents v1 #29, 1981 - In trying to save Supergirl's life, Superman unknowingly endangers the entire universe. The Spectre intervenes to stop his friend and ally. Jim Starlin does a good job recapping the previous events in a montage, before delving into Superman's history and psyche. The hero's inability to stop an exploding Krypton (page 12) is especially moving. A new back-up tale featuring Dr. Midnight rounds out the issue. This is number 4 of 7 DC Comics Presents issues with Starlin art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Starlin or DC Comics Presents issues.
