Battleground #11 |
Battleground v1 #11, 1956 - A father and son, both officers in the Confederate Army, learn some painful lessons at the Battle of Appomattox.
Al Williamson's opening panel of a skirmish is meticulously executed. On other pages, there are instances of mis-colored panels, including a black and blue Confederate flag and Union soldiers dressed in grey. In addition to these distractions, the artist's efforts are generally less than satisfactory. Other artists in this golden age comic include George Tuska, Gene Colan, Mac Pakula and Chuck Miller. Cover by Carl Burgos. This is 1 of 3
