Fighting Yank #28 - Al Williamson art

Fighting Yank v1 #28, 1949 - One of Al Williamson's earliest works, he contributes only a single page in this golden age issue. The Fighting Yank, a super-hero costumed as a colonial patriot, is featured in several stories throughout the book. Among the less prominent pages is the "Fighting Yank's Notebook", which make futuristic predictions on fashion and communications. Al Williamson draws four separate panels, none of which particularly distinctive or engaging. In fact, this early effort may have been overlooked if not for his signature in upper right hand panel. This is number 1 of 1 Fighting Yank issues with Williamson art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Williamson or Fighting Yank issues. See also this blog's Williamson checklist.
