Planet of the Apes #19
Planet of the Apes v1 #19, 1975 - Encountering a pueblo-dwelling society, Alex, Jason and Malaguena take part in a sacred peyote rite. While under the effects of the drug, Brutus and his war machines begin their siege. Mike Ploog and Tom Sutton contributed to separate stories within the series, but here they collaborate as a team. Ploog supplies the pencils, but unfortunately Sutton's inks mostly dominate. The resulting pages seem overworked much of the time, including the two splash pages. Other artists in this magazine include Alfredo Alcala, who completes part four of the Conquest of the Planet of the Apes adaptation. Cover by Bob Larkin. This is 10 of 10 Planet of the Apes issues by Ploog. /// Ploog gallery
