New Gods v1 #17, 1978 - The New Gods' memories are siphoned off by Darkseid, their secrets revealed in the upper half of Jim Starlin's terrific cover. Above is a prime example why the artist should ink more of his own pencils. Don Newton and Dan Adkins team up for another terrific issue, improving with each effort. Of the three splashes, page three is the most accomplished, showcasing the artists' skillful rendering of machinery. This story was later reprinted in New Gods by Gerry Conway. This is 5 of 7 New Gods issues by Newton and 1 of 1 New Gods issues by Starlin.
