Chamber of Chills v2 #4, 1973 - This John Jakes adaptation is directly inspired by Edgar Allen Poe's Cask of Amontillado. The use of the characters in a modern day setting is a refreshing twist, capably captured by artist Frank Brunner. Among the highlights: the opening scene of a rat-infested, skeleton-laden crypt and the horrific, excruciatingly detailed faces and figures on the final two pages. Other artists in this issue include Scott Pike, Frank Monte, Howard Chaykin and Joe Sinnott.
