Marvel Two-in-One #54 - John Byrne art

Marvel Two-in-One #54, 1979 - Deathlok the Demolisher emerges, marking an early appearance since his cancellation in Astonishing Tales. He meets his untimely end in the same story, cornered by the Thing, Quasar and other members of Project Pegasus. John Byrne's artwork is reliably satisfying and Joe Sinnott adds a nice finish to the pencils. Most engaging are his panels featuring Thundra and her wrestling opponents (pages 21-23). Other artists in this issue include George Perez & Terry Austin (cover). This is number 4 of 8 Marvel Two-in-One issues with Byrne art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Byrne or Marvel Two-In-One issues.

I remember buying this one off the "HEY KIDS, COMICS!" spinner rack. Deathlok made a previous Two-in-One appearance (27) post Astonishing Tales series.
