Chamber of Chills v2 #3 - Frank Brunner art

Chamber of Chills v2 #3, 1973 - Frank Brunner illustrates his second Robert E. Howard adaptation, about a fabulous jewel stolen from an ancient pre-Columbian temple. The greedy explorer brings it back to his crumbling, isolated mansion, perfectly captured by the artist. Brunner's opening splash page is especially effective, depicting a visitor's ominous approach to the house. His figure is framed by a barren tree, its fluid, undulating branches suggesting the wind's chill. Other artists in this issue include Bill Everett, Don Heck, Ernie Chua and Alan Weiss? (cover). This is number 2 of 3 Chamber of Chills issues with Brunner art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Brunner or Chamber of Chills issues.
