Excruciatingly detailed, Alex Nino's work suggests the antiquity of the setting. His lines are spindly and unkempt, yet texturally rich. The title page, depicting the public hanging of a murderess, excels due to its strong vertical panels (emphasizing the gallows' height) and fine draftsmanship.
