Witching Hour #11 - Neal Adams cover, Alex Toth art

Neal Adams
Witching Hour v1 #11, 1970 - Kept in an insane asylum, a witness recounts a ritual murder by a witches' coven. Alex Toth's layouts remain largely intact, although his pencils lose much of their impact due to another artist's poor inking. By comparison, Toth's framing pages are more engaging and spontaneous. Neal Adams, drawing a typically competent cover, swipes most of the figure drawings from an interior Toth panel (see interior page below). This is number 9 of 10 Witching Hour issues with Toth art and/or covers and number 6 of 8 Witching Hour issues with Adams art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Toth, Adams or Witching Hour issues. See also this blog's Adams checklist, Top 10 Adams comics or Toth checklist.
