Iron Fist #6 - John Byrne art

Iron Fist v1 #6, 1976 - The hero finally locates the missing Colleen Wing, only to find her brainwashed and ready to do battle. John Byrne's visual storytelling begins to find its own voice. Figure drawings and general layouts are more polished and mature. The separate memories of Iron Fist and Colleen mesh together in a well orchestrated splash (see interior page below). More spectacularly, Byrne draws a double page splash of the two combatants, their bodies distorted within a mind-twisting scenario (pages 16-17). Other artists in this issue include Gil Kane (cover). This is number 6 of 15 Iron Fist issues with Byrne art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Byrne or Iron Fist issues. See also this blog's Byrne checklist.
