10. House of Mystery v1 #211, 1973 - This horrific vampire-themed cover is followed by a humorous splash, both remarkably drawn by Bernie Wrightson. In Nestor Redondo's tale, a landowner and his daughter move to a small village, only to find it preyed upon by a werewolf. The illustrations are lovingly and meticulously detailed (see interior page below). On page 8, the transformation from man to werewolf is exquisitely drawn. Redondo continues to bring an unexpected sophistication to the genre. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Gerry Talaoc and Dan Green. This is 5 of 16 House of Mystery issues by Redondo and 18 of 28 House of Mystery issues by Wrightson. /// Top 10 Redondo comics / Wrightson gallery / Redondo gallery
