10. House of Mystery v1 #209, 1972 - As stunning as his grim reaper cover is, Bernie Wrightson's splash of Cain the Caretaker is even better. Fine lines and fluid brushwork add dimension and interest to this darkened portrait. Monochromatic colors enhance an already cool, sophisticated scene. Though horrific in tone, the mangled hands and medieval mace emerging from the baby's crib add a touch of twisted humor.
