Hercules Unbound #9 - Walt Simonson art & cover

Walt Simonson
Hercules Unbound v1 #9, 1977 - Fighting his way through a vast compound, Hercules must determine why the technological attacks seem to emanate from his friend David Rigg. Walt Simonson's cover unfortunately suffers from the heavy handed inks of Al Milgrom. Similarly, the story art bears little resemblance to Simonson's eclectic style. Rough layouts are provided to artist Bob Layton, whose efforts are stiff and amateurish. Overall a disappointing issue. This issue possibly has the worst artwork in the series. This is 3 of 6 Hercules Unbound issues by Simonson. /// Simonson gallery
