Conan the Barbarian #37 - Neal Adams art & cover

Neal Adams
Conan the Barbarian v1 #37, 1974 - Enslaved by hill-tribes, Conan discovers the secret of the gold-skinned wizard that rules over them. Initially drawn for Savage Sword of Conan, this story was reduced to fit a standard comic book format. Even at a smaller size, Neal Adams' artwork is exquisite. Most of his original details seem to have survived the transition. The title splash, depicting Conan riding his mount through biting northern winds, is especially memorable. Perhaps most breathtaking is Adams' cover, taking the typical barbarian theme and elevating it to new heights. This is 1 of 4 Conan the Barbarian issues by Adams
