Ronin #5 - Frank Miller art & cover

Ronin v1 #5 dc comic book cover art by Frank Miller
Frank Miller
Ronin v1 #5, 1984 - The past and future blend together as the Ronin's origin and how he came to post-apocalyptic Manhattan are revealed. More brushwork and shadow are used by Frank Miller, complementing his sometimes delicate lines. The results are dramatic, increasing both contrast and depth. Of the seven double page spreads, two employ innovative split-screen techniques that juxtapose scenes of feudal Japan with futuristic settings. This is number 5 of 6 Ronin issues with Miller art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Miller or Ronin issues. See also this blog's Frank Miller checklist.
