Rex Allen #24 |
Rex Allen v1 #24, 1957 - With Rex's help, a teen-aged boy tries to convince his brother to quit a gang of thieves.
Alex Toth's only work on the series, this back-up story is among his finest within the western genre. The drawings are heavily detailed, using lighting and contrast to enhance drama (see interior page below). Toth's excellent draftsmanship pervades each scene, especially the characters' faces. Most notably, he does a decent job in capturing the actor's likeness. Among the many westerns he drew in this period, this golden age comic is one of Toth's best. Photo cover. This is 1 of 1
